Fishing guide in Alingsås, Sweden

Welcome to Fishing Lake Mjörn! I have worked as a fishing guide since 2018, mainly on lake Mjörn and lake Anten in the municipality of Alingsås, 50 kilometers east of Gothenburg. Anyone can book a guided tour. Beginners, hobby anglers or professionals. Families with children are also welcome aboard. My customers primarily choose pike fishing, zander fishing or perch fishing and I bring all the necessary equipment. The day is customized to fit your level of experience and ambition. In addition, I have partners with whom I offer larger guide packages to companies.

We have fantastic zander fishing in Mjörn and a chance of very large pike in Anten, a 30 – 40 minute drive from Gothenburg. Popular methods are ordinary spin fishing, trolling and vertical fishing. For more advanced fishing in search of really big zander, I offer precision casting with Active Target. The two primary bookable packages are a half day of 4 hours or a full day of 6-7. Max number of people besides me is 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. It is also possible to request a quote for longer fishing trips or for larger groups. Take a look at the gallery to see previous catches and get the urge to fish!

Expertise

I am an all-round fishing guide with extensive knowledge in most areas. Fishing for me is very much about a challenge, so I like to vary my fishing and never get stuck in one method, one species or one location. I know most lakes around, but prefer to guide on Mjörn or Anten where the chance of success is greatest.

With a bachelor’s degree in biology and work as a writer and photographer for a Swedish fishing magazine, I dare to say that I have a wide range of knowledge in everything from fish behaviour patterns to specially adapted techniques. I have written articles about trolling, float trolling, bottombouncing, spin fishing, angling, equipment, rigs and techniques.

Equipment

The boat I use is a 2021 Tracker Targa V-18 with 150 hp Mercury Pro XS suitable for four people but CE marked for six. With a length of almost 6 meter and width of 2.60 meters you can can feel safe on the water. The electronics I use are sonar, active target, trollingmotor and autopilot from Lowrance.

Rods and baits are available for all the methods we use. You can either borrow equipment from me, or use your own, and only need to bring food, drink and clothing for the weather. Life jackets and extra clothes for the cold seasons are also available if desired.

What do customers think?

After the winter's youtubewatching, the desire for pike fishing was great. With a few recent blanks, I decided to contact Joakim. We met up early one May morning and despite no wind and bright sun, Joakim had high hopes for good fishing. Already at the first stop we caught fish, and after that the fishing luck continued. We landed a total of 10 nice pike with a top of 103 cm and 8 kilos. The best part was all the tips and advice we got and that we only had to worry about casting. This when Joakim drove the boat and provided us with both suitable baits and perfectly grilled hamburgers.

Joakim picked us up at Simmenäs and we drove out on lake Mjörn. Everything was perfect and we saw the walleyes waiting for our jigs, but couldn't get them to bite on vertical fishing all day. But we still didn't lose out. We learned how to interpret the sonar, got a big zander of 3.9 kg on a spin and some big pike in the end, as well as a wonderful hamburger. Thanks for a great day on the lake!
